The Location
Saul Junction is a unique waterways crossroads created when the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal crossed the Stroudwater Navigation in 1827.
This beautiful spot can be found just 2 miles from junction 13 of the M5, eight miles south of Gloucester and close to the picturesque village of Frampton on Severn.
Cotswold Canals Trust Volunteers operate the Trip Boat Perseverance from:
Heritage Centre, Canal Towpath, Off Church Lane, Saul, Gloucestershire, GL2 7LA.
The Boat & Crew
Perseverance has been completely refurbished for the 2012 season with an all-over repaint and new weatherproof cover with larger window panels.
The boat is licensed to carry twelve persons and has a toilet compartment on board. 
Perseverance is crewed by two specially trained & qualified Trust volunteers.
Private Party Charter Cruises
The boat and crew can be hired throughout the year for periods of one, two, three or four hours
(or longer!) for birthday parties, picnics & pirate adventures... or just for the peace and tranquility of being afloat in glorious Gloucestershire.
Lunch Cruise
A popular Private Charter destination is to take lunch at The Tudor Arms at Slimbridge.
This is a one hour southbound cruise followed by a leisurely lunch, then an hour's cruise back to Saul.
Your Charter Group meets at Saul Heritage Centre where, over a cup of tea, you select your individual starters and main courses from the Tudor Arms Menu.
Heritage Centre staff telephone the order through to the restaurant as the boat departs the wharf.
This ensures reservation of your table and prompt service of the excellent fare offered by The Tudor Arms team.
Summertime Shopping Cruise
A summertime destination for Private Party charters is The Shopping Cruise to Gloucester Quays.
Your party leaves Saul for a one and three quarter hour northbound cruise to Gloucester disembarking in the main basin.
The boat and crew then await your return at the Bakers Quay moorings immediately outside Gloucester Quays.
The crew remains on board and will safeguard your shopping bags while you go back for more!
The boat leaves Gloucester promptly at 4.30pm in order to pass through the eight bridges en route before the 7pm closing time.

How to Find Us
From M5 Junction 13 follow the signs for Gloucester & Bristol.
Turn right at the A38 roundabout following the signs for Gloucester.
Ascend the hill, passing the a garden centre on the nearside.
Turn left at Whitminster crossroads into School Lane.
Continue for two miles, over the Stroudwater Navigation and then turn right
into Church Lane (Signposted Sandfield Mill)
Continue to Sandfield Bridge across the Gloucester- Sharpness Canal.
Turn right immediately after the bridge.
The Heritage Centre and Perseverance trip boat wharf are
200 metres along the towpath.
Pay and Display Parking applies.
But, fear not, it is just £1.00 for four hours in paradise!
